Improving the conservation status of the priority habitat type 9560* (Endemic forests with Juniperus spp.) in Cyprus

The main aim of the project is to improve the conservation status of the priority habitat type 9560* of Mediterranean Endemic forests with Juniperus spp.. Endemic forests with Juniperus spp. constitute a priority habitat for protection and conservation under the Habitats Directive. In the territory under the jurisdiction of the republic of Cyprus this habitat type is found in Troodos, Akamas and Madari areas. The project, implemented with the contribution of the LIFE financial instrument of the EU, started on January 1st 2012 and will end in June 2015.
